Activities

You are coming to the right place for a fun-filled holiday. There are so many things to do in the Comox Valley, all you have to do is know what it is you want to do!

Access to the ocean is very good, most streets that end at the water have parking. Some beaches are pebbly/rocky, others are sand. A trip to the marina is a must, with a walk out on the boardwalk.

Most popular activities are golf, boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking/walking, beaches, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, and dining out.

If you enjoy wildlife, the beautiful Trumpeter Swans grace the valley in the winter, along with many migrating water birds that congregate in the estuary and surrounding shorelines.

Mt Washington is a must-see place any season. Their groomed cross-country ski trails are excellent. Snowshoe trails and, of course, the downhill skiing are all close by. The average annual snowfall in the winter is 1150 cm (38 feet) - 25 year average! In the summer, hiking trails abound up there in Strathcona Provincial Park adjacent to the resort. You can also ride the chair to the summit to see the breath-taking view of the whole Comox Valley and ocean.

If you like to dine out, there are numerous, excellent restaurants and cafes in Comox and Courtenay.

For history lovers, check out the museum in Courtenay. Learn about the history of the valley and see some amazing dinosaur fossils and skeletons.

We can help plan your trip and give you suggestions of places to go and what you can do.

If you are interested to get around by bike and don't come with your own, we are happy to arrange rental of fat-tire electric bikes for you. These can be dropped off at our cottage and picked up again after you are done for your ultimate convenience! Just let us know ahead of time what your requirements are.

One of the best ways to access areas in a fun and friendly way is with these fat- tire electric bikes. They deliver enough power to get you where you want to go, and the wide tires eat up the small bumps and roots, as well as decreasing impact on the trail, for a lighter footprint.
